No alcohol under 18
The Whisky House does not sell, serve or offer alcohol to persons under 18. This follows from the Belgian law of 24 January 1977 on the protection of consumer health with regard to foodstuffs and other products (article 6, as amended). That law prohibits selling spirits, such as whisky, to persons under 18, and selling other drinks containing more than 0.5 percent alcohol to persons under 16.
How we check
- With every order, booking and offer you confirm that you are 18 or over.
- On delivery, on pickup at the shop and at every tasting we ask for a valid ID.
- We do not hand over a bottle to a recipient who cannot prove they are 18 or over.
- We may refuse a sale or admission to a tasting if we have doubts about someone's age.
Enjoy responsibly
Whisky is for tasting, not for drinking a lot. Do not drive after a tasting. Pregnant women should not drink alcohol. If you have questions about alcohol use, you can contact DrugLijn (www.druglijn.be, 078 15 10 20) or, in French, Infor-Drogues (www.infor-drogues.be, 02 227 52 52).
Buying from abroad
If you buy from another country, you must meet the minimum age and the rules on importing alcohol in that country. You can read more about this in our terms of sale.
